"TODAY, A YOUNG MAN ON ACID REALIZED THAT ALL MATTER IS MERELY ENERGY CONDENSED TO A SLOW VIBRATION – THAT WE ARE ALL ONE CONSCIOUSNESS EXPERIENCING ITSELF SUBJECTIVELY. THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS DEATH, LIFE IS ONLY A DREAM, AND WE'RE THE IMAGINATION OF OURSELVES… HERE'S TOM WITH THE WEATHER!" - BILL HICKS
pop art is a mid-20th century art movement that blends the imagery and techniques of popular culture, mass media, and consumerism. Emerging in the mid-1950s in Britain and the late 1950s in America, it reacted against the seriousness of abstract expressionism by drawing from sources like advertising, comic books, and mundane mass-produced objects. A time filled with pioneers like warhol, Basquiat, lichtenstein and Nagel to guide the way, it is one of my most favorite and personally INFLUENTIAL periods in art History.
